The mighty Yangtze River, largest river in China, is said to be the cradle of Chinese civilization. It flows 6.300 kilometers from the snowy heights of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the East China Sea. It goes by many local names, but to the Chinese it is most famous simply as Chang Jiang (Long River).

The old saying goes "If you haven't traveled up Chang Jiang, you haven't been anywhere" because the river winds through some of China's most spectacular scenery. In the western Wu Shan (Witch Mountains) it meets the world-famous Three Great Gorges, renowned for their dramatic beauty, cultural treasures, religious and historical sites, and now for the world-biggest Three Gorges Dam.

The stunning scenery makes the Three Gorges cruise along the Yangtze a 'must do', alone or as part of a longer trip, particularly against the backdrop of the rising waters, newly navigable tributaries and of course, the Dam itself. Day 1

Transfer to cruise. your memorable Yangtze River Cruise begins at 9pm as the ship departs Chongqing port

Day 2

Morning excursion to Shibaozhai (the nine-storey Precious Stone Stronghold). You can participate in cultural programs this afternoon and the Captain's Welcome Cocktail Party tonight. BLD/

Day 3

Begin the passage with Qutang Gorge, the shortest and the grandest of the Three Gorges. View the exquisite peaks and grotesquely shaped rocks. Pass the Wu Gorge with its famous lofty and misty peaks. Disembark at Wushan Daning River for an excursion to the Three Little Gorges. The trip features a fantastic natural backdrop and a wonderful boat ride along the crystal stream. Get back to have lunch on the ship. You can participate in culture programs this afternoon. Later the ship will pass the Xiling Gorge and the Three Gorges Ship lock

A Farewell Party tonight invites you to perform dancing or musical instruments with the cruise staff. BLD/

Day 4

Morning excursion to the under constructed Three Gorges Dam. After lunch pack your luggage and complete check-out procedures. The ship arrives in Yichang at about 13:30. Meet and transfer to airport for your next stop.
