Great Wall Hiking and Camping 2 Days

Day 1

Drive to Simatai Great Wall from your hotel (2-3 hours). Hike to Jinshanling Great Wall (12km, 4-5 hours). Picnic lunch on the wall (sandwich, banana, water). After arrive at Jinshanling Great Wall, relax and have dinner in a farmer’s house. Overnight on Great Wall in tents and sleeping bags that we have prepared for you.

Day 2

Enjoy sunrise on the wall. Breakfast in farmer’s house. Drive back to Beijing.

When staying in the farmer’s house or Jinshan Hotel, if single supplement: 20USD.

Private transfer and English-speaking guide, entrance tickets, 1 picnic lunch (Subway sandwich), 1 dinner and 1 breakfast, sleeping bags and tents, official permit for overnight on the wall. The quotations do not include: Possible gratitude; other services not listed.

Notice:

When the weather does not permit, clients can not sleep on the wall. So they will stay overnight in a farmer’s home. The farmer’s compound is in a small village next to the wall. They have several separated rooms for clients, clean and comfortable. The dinner provided by the farmer’s family, with fresh ingredients, most of which are grown by themselves. If any clients do not like to stay in the farmer’s house, they can stay in Jinshan Hotel (2*) next to the wall, with the same price. If so, simple breakfast will be provided in the hotel.
We provide sleeping bags and tents, and the guide and the farmer will help to choose a good place on the wall and set up the tents for clients.
Simatai Great Wall – Jinshanling Great Wall is about 6 miles, and it takes 4-5 hours to hike. Clients can visit some villages on the way during hiking. The hiking is intermediate, and adults at all age can do it.
When clients hike from Jinshanling Great Wall to Simatai Great Wall, each of them will be followed by 1 local vendor from the beginning to the end. Don't worry about the these farmer turned vendors. Just treat them with respect and they will treat you the same. They can be quite helpful if you have any difficulty on the way. The local vendors make a living by selling bottled water, postcards, tourist books, T-shirts and souvenirs at higher prices. You are not obligated to buy from them but it can be hard to make them go away. If you don't want to buy anything, tipping is expected.
