Cairo ~ Siwa ~ White Desert 9 days
Day 1
After breakfast at 08:00am departure from the guests address to Siwa Oasis by bus. Dinner and over night stay at a Hotel.
Day 2
In the morning after breakfast sighseeing in Siwa, tour by jeep 4x4 to visit Dead mountain, Siwa house museum and old fortress of Shali. After we will visit the oracle temple, in which we will spot the coronation hall of Alexander the great.
We move along to the ruins of Amoun temple. You will have the chance to swim in the Cleopatra pool. Then we are going on to the mountain Dakrour who is famous for his hot sand. This is the best place all over for a sand bath which is often used as an effective natural cure for Rheumatism. We will overnight and camp in the Oasis of Siwa.
Day 3
After the breakfast we will ride to the Great Sand Sea is around 72,000 kilometres in size, an area somewhat larger than Tasmania, or Ireland. Essentially enormous expanses of sand, sand seas are made up of processions of dunes aligned to the air stream, either raising the ground level or dipping into escarpments that tend to face south.
The dunes respond to the wind, moving at a rate of 20- 100 metres a year. The longest dune in the Great Sand Sea, known as the Abu Mhara Dune, is estimated to be 140 kilometres long.
For three days we traverse this extraordinary landscape, exploring endlessly undulating curves that create an atmosphere of infinite and unparalleled tranquillity. Proceed to visit Bir Wahed, close to Siwa, where the hot spring and desert lake provide a pleasant diversion. Overnight stay will be in a camp.
Day 4
After the breakfast we leave Siwa behind and head towards Bahariya Oasis via desert track, crossing remote uninhabited desert oasis such as Setra, Nueimsa and al-Arag. We will stop for some photo opportunities along the way. Overnight stay will be in a camp.
Day 5
After the breakfast we will walk around and enjoy the old village of the oasis of Bahariya and we will see the groves of palms and fruit trees.
Then we will make a tour to the black mountains, the sand dunes and the salt lake. After that, we will visit the Temple of Ain El Muftella which was once the main water source of the old capital of the oasis.
Move onto the ruin on a hill "The English House" Then we will drive to the black desert and to the crystal mountain. Afterwards we will move on to the new White Desert for camping and a relaxing. We will stay over night in a camp.
Day 6
White Desert Camping
Day 7
After breakfast we will complete our tour in the White Desert. Then we will drive to the old acacia tree and to the roman spring of Ain Khadra. Later we will leave the spring to cross the small valley and the big valley. We will camp in the old White Desert.
Day 8
Drive back to Bahariya Oasis. We will be accommodated at the hotel.
Day 9
After breakfast return trip to Cairo. Lunch on the way.
